The DECADENT-'82 Rare Punk-DeathRock-only 200 pressed The DECADENT-Self Atmosphere / Opposition Proposition
Danger Syndrome D628
1982
Ex cond.w/Plain white sleeve
This is a VERY SCARCE "7 from an even Scarcer (?) group. You wont find much info on them if you do a quick Google, but I've got some info from the past. see reviews / info below-
NEW Review of this Single added- 2/4/10 ! This was from a 1982 Fanzine CREATURES OF A DISTURBING NATURE- Written by the world renowned JEFF DAHL. Pretty accurate description of the sound of this record.
This band was around since 1979 in So. California. They started out as a punk band named the DECADENTS then changed name to The Decadent.
Later some of the members went on to play with BIG bands as diverse as HOLE, CHRISTIAN DEATH, SUPERHEROINES,The DOGS, MAZZY STAR, La's wasted Youth, Divine Horsemen & Even an early version of GUNS 'N' Roses !
The single was recorded around 1980-81, but wasn't released until '82. There was only 200 pressed!
And of those, about 120+ where recalled because of a bad pressing glitch ( like a skip ) and a misspelling on the label. So in reality theres only about 50-80 of these in circulation.
I've had the version with Pic Sleeve & it fetched 3 digits awhile back. If this was on a KBD comp ( and why isn't it? ) it would be on of those $500+ singles the international Punk Collectors would have on their want lists...
I found an old review from Maximum R n R ( Jello Biafra's Picks! )>> listing this single on his top 20 charts from 1982 ! Its up there with MDC, GBH , Buthole Surfers & Hawkwind!
