My favorite Cure album. I'm one of those fans who believe Robert Smith is best when he sounds depressed or melancholy and this album has it in spades. The music is intricate with layers of melodies woven together into a rich tapestry. The sound is thick, rich, warm and very pleasant to listen to at any volume. It's like vinyl sound but no pops, clicks, scratches, skips. If only there were more like it in that way.
