Description
This is the original Japanese issue of “The Complete Sarah Vaughan on Mercury”, a total of 26 LPs in five boxes, all with obi: Volume 1/18PJ-1030-5 has 6 LPs and a 66-page booklet; Volume 2/18PJ-1036-40 has 5 LPs and a 68-page booklet; Volume 3/18PJ-1041-1046 has 6 LPs and a 72-page booklet; Volume 4 (Part 1)/18PJ-1074-77 has 4 LPs and a 42-page booklet; Volume 4 (Part 2)/18PJ-1078-1082 has 5 LPs and a 56-page booklet. Most of the records appear to be mint, unplayed; the others have mint playing surfaces but the spindle hole indicates perhaps a single play. All booklets are as-new except for Volume 4 (Part 2) which shows very light handling. The obi on Volume 1 has a 1 ½” clear tape repair; the obi on Volume 3 has three folds; the obi on Volume 4 (Part 1) has a ½” split on the bottom edge. The boxes show light rubbing along the bottom edge but are otherwise clean throughout; Volume 1 shows an almost imperceptible 2 ½” repair at the center of the bottom edge; Volume 2 shows a 2” clean break at the center of the bottom edge; Volume 4 (Part 1) shows a 2 ½” clean break at the center of the bottom edge. (These breaks are common, due to the weight of the records and the construction of the box seams). Of the 407 tracks, 61 are previously unissued. Personnel include Clifford Brown, Jimmy Jones, Richard Davis, Roy Haynes, and the Count Basie and Quincy Jones bands. WE NOW ACCEPT PAYPAL.
