Promotional copies of The Clash singles are incredibly saught after by fans worldwide, however this promo, being the first, and now 33 years old, is somewhat unique
The CBS 'A' Label has 'RELEASE DATE 18th March 1977' and the B side ' PROMOTIONAL COPY NOT FOR SALE'
You will note from my feedback that I believe in total honesty when describing any records sold. In this case, the single is over 30 years old but during the period has been maintained in an excellent condition, plays perfectly (no jumps) and has minimal crackle. This has been in my private collection since release
The cover is the first edition paper cover used for the initial release. The cover itself shows signs of wear and tear in line with it's age.
Being a fragile original paper cover there is creasing where the record enters the sleeve and a small tear around 1cm in length. The bottom edge of the cover has been warn over time.
I have naturally taken all things into consideration when setting the start price but this is one of the rarest Clash singles around and is a genuine opportunity to add this first Clash promo to your collection. You probably wont see one of these again in this condition for a very long time.
