Description
The Clash, The Clash. CBS S 82000. First Press, Red sticker Version.
This is the very first pressing one of the 10 000 first pressed with the Red Sticker intact on the inner sleeve and A-2, B-2 matrix in the runout. The first 10,000LPs included a red sticker on the inner sleeve which could be redeemed from the NME for a free single, The Capitol Radio E.P.
Matrix numbers for this release A-2/B-2.
The Capital Radio E.P. was a promotional record given away to readers who sent off the coupon printed in NME, together with a red sticker found on the inside of the cover of the first 10,000 copies of The Clash's eponymous
album, which had been released that week; a week after their debut single, "White Riot", entered the UK Top 40.
I bought this record myself in April 1977. The record comes with pages from the NME, a Tony Parsons interview from 02/04/77 & the LP review from the 16/04/77.
Record has very few light hairline marks, both side play great VG+. Sleeve has a good spine and light scuffs to corners, VG+.
All records test played before listing.
