Description
The Clash ‘London Calling’ 1979 original first pressing vinyl double album, catalogue number CLASH 3. I would grade this album, both the sleeve and the records, as Good Minus, but please read the full description and look at the photos, which are of the actual album on offer here.
Sleeve:
Has some creases, particularly to the bottom corners and the opening edge. On the front the number 15 in a circle has been written twice in biro. On the back the song titles have all been ticked, and there are a couple of finger marks. On the plus side, there are no rips, and the seams are intact.
Inner sleeves:
Plain inner sleeves, presumably original. This pressing would originally have come with 11 inch square printed inserts, but these are missing.
Records:
All four sides have numerous surface scratches (I’ve tried to photograph the worst on each side), but I’ve play tested them all on my audio-technica LP3 record deck, and they actually play much better than I had expected. There is some surface noise throughout, but it’s really only noticeable between tracks. It skipped a groove only once, in the first part of the vocal on Track 1 of side 4 (Lover’s Rock). Overall it was a good listening experience.

So if you want a pristine original pressing of this classic album, then this one isn’t for you, but if you’re happy to have one that plays pretty well but has obviously been pre-enjoyed (hence the low start price), then this would definitely be worth considering.
