This is an original first press copy of The Clash's 12" Vinyl Double LP 'London Calling',released in 1979 on CBS.
It is an 18 track, Double LP complete with its original lyric inner sleeves.The cover sleeve is intact and in good condition but does have a few marks on the reverse. The original CBS promo sticker is still on the front. The inner sleeves are the original with printed lyrics, again in good condition but with a couple of marks.
The records look good with no obvious scratches. The labels are in good clean condition. Note that on this first pressing, track 5 on side 4 (Train in Vain) is not listed on the label or sleeve but is, instead, etched on the runout on side 4.
The matrix / run outs are as follows:- Side A: CL 1-2-A1 CBS-S-CLASH-3A timtom
- Side B: CL-1-2-B1 CBS-S-CLASH-3B timtom
- Side C: CL 3-4-A2 CBS-S-CLASH 3-C2 timtom
- Side D: CL-3-4-B2 CBS-S-CLASH 3-D2 ty TRACK 5 IS "TRAIN IN VAIN"
I will post the LP in packaging designed for the job ready for sending via Royal Mail 2nd class parcel service. Oh… and yes, if you want to buy more than one, I’ll combine postage where possible!
The Important Bit!
This is one of a number of vinyl LPs that I am reluctantly selling to free up space. This one, like all the others, has not been played for many years as I gave up my ‘turntable’ in the late 80s when I started a family and CD’s just became an easier/safer option (but even so I kept the LPs and even bought a few more post turntable because I just didn't want to part with them). I have visually inspected every one that I'm listing and noted any identified problems in the individual LP description (above).
