Gene Norman Presents The Chase and the Steeplechase starring Wardell Gray and Dexter Gordon recorded at the Pasadena Circus Auditorium Pasadena, California, February 2, 1952 C1953 Decca Records DL7025. This record is billed as an “all-out ‘to-the-death’ duel between two tenor saxophones.” Personnel: Wardell Gray; tenor saxophone, Dexter Gordon: tenor saxophone, Conti Condoli: trumpet, Chico Hamilton: drums, Bobby Taylor: piano and Don Bagley: bass.   This is not a brand new record. It’s been played, you can hear hiss and pop at the beginning, but it fades out once you get into the music. The people who invented those mechanical record changers have left us all with some regret. You can get a good recording from this and it will ‘refine’ quite nicely using the software available.   About shipping: Priority and International rates vary, and will be provided upon request. Multiple wins can be combined to reduce shipping costs. All items are packed with care and insurance is included.
