Description
Hits By The Charms - 45rpm EP on DeLuxe (DEP-357). This is an original, not a reissue. Excellent doo wop extended play from 1955, very scarce, particularly in this condition.
Songs: Hearts of Stone / Bazoom (I Need Your Lovin') / Ling Ting Tong / Crazy Crazy Love
The Cover: The big story here is the cardboard picture sleeve, which has somehow remained immaculately preserved in what I would grade as NM condition. There are no hints of seam splitting, creases, writing, stickers, or other major blemishes on the cover. The bottom right corner has a very minimal bump to it (see photos), but not to the point of causing creasing. The beautiful orangish-yellow front cover is vibrant and does not appear to have faded one bit over the years. This cover has been kept tucked safely away over the decades and is quite remarkable.
The Record: Visually the record should grade VG+, or VG for more conservative tastes. It has a small sticker on the B-side label. The record has some light scuffs (visible in photos), the most visible of which is played through in the linked audio sample (second excerpt) to show that it doesn't appreciably affect the playing experience. The record is a great listen, with only a little surface noise between tracks and no deep audible groove wear. This is all beside the fact that the music itself is a great listen and wonderful from an historical perspective.
