The Chambers Brothers: "The Time Has Come" 1967 CS-9522 Pitman 2-Eye Pressing EX

   For sale is a vinyl record by The Chambers Brothers titled "The Time Has Come", originally released in 1967 by Columbia Records. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched a lower case "o" along with an upper case "P",  followed by the matrix numbers 1-F/1-E, indicating that the record was mastered at Columbia Records' Customatrix. before an early stamper was used to make this record at Columbia Records' pressing plant located in Pitman, New Jersey. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this album used, professionally cleaned it in my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded as Excellent because of some very minor corner blunts, edge rubs and some foxing on the back cover. The spine has color loss at the corners and there are two small nicks in the middle with some paper loss. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint Minus, with surfaces that are shiny and bright, in a like-new condition and except for a smudge on side One, are without surface scratches, scuffs or spindle marks on the labels. The labels for this original first pressings are red with "COLUMBIA" written in white at the top, along with two CBS logos, one on each side of the the center hole, with "360 Sound STEREO 360 Sound" across the bottom rim of the labels with arrows pointing outward at each end. These are commonly called "2-Eye" Columbia labels because the CBS logos look like "eyes". I'm play grading it conservatively as Excellent, because of an occasional pop along with ultra low level background noise, most evident between tracks and during the quiet sections of playback, but not over-powering the vocals or music. A lot of people would grade thts as Near Mint, associating the pops and background noise as the price you pay when you have vinyl pressings. It pays all the way through without any skips or lock-ups. This is still the best copy of this record that I have ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find another copy in this condition, especially a "2-Eye" Pitman pressing. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection.  I have a lot more R&B and Soul records, as well as albums of all different genres listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look.
