Description
Clean and tidy 1st pressing rare Mono copy of The Byrds’ classic and groundbreaking 1968 country rock album. The record has probably not been played a great deal, judging by the small number of spindle marks, but it does have a number of hairlines and marks which affect the audio. The sleeve is in better condition than the record. However it will do fine until that NM copy comes along!
Sleeve VG+ Front laminated. In generally very good shape. Some laminate shrinkage, as well as rubbing along the spine. Most of the lettering has disappeared.
Labels Ex+ Textured. Very clean with light spindle traces only.
Inner VG+ Original CBS company advertising sleeve. Some creasing.
Record Visually VG/VG+, nice shine to the vinyl. Light hairlines and surface marks seen in normal light on both sides. Nothing really serious or offensive, but there is quite a long sleeve-removal hairline on Side 2 which produces some annoying ticks during ‘Hickory Wind’ but these gradually reduce in volume. I have fully play-tested the record and would grade the audio as VG, not bad, but there is background crackle during the quieter moments and between tracks as well as the odd random tick elsewhere. No sticks or jumps on my deck.
