(Wikipedia Excerpts)  The Blues Brothers: Original Soundtrack Recording (later re-released as The Blues Brothers: Music from the Soundtrack) is the Blues Brothers Band's second album. Released on June 20, 1980, it was a follow-up to their debut live album, Briefcase Full of Blues. The band toured the same year to promote the film, later releasing a second live album, Made in America, which featured the Top 40 track "Who's Making Love".

The songs on the soundtrack album are a noticeably different audio mix than in the film, with a prominent baritone saxophone in the horn line (also heard in the film during "Shake a Tail Feather", though no baritone sax is present), and female backing vocals on "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love", though the band had no other backup singers, besides Jake and/or Elwood, in the film. A number of regular band members, including saxophonist Tom Scott and drummer Steve Jordan, perform on the album but are not in the film.

"Gimme Some Lovin'" was a Top 20 Billboard hit for the Blues Brothers, peaking at number 18. The album sold more than a million copies.

The vinyl LP was visually inspected and appeared shiny and unplayed. The disc is slightly cupped, but tracked/played fine on seller’s turntable.  It is priced accordingly.

This is an early Specialty Records Corporation pressing variant with MCR Joe COOKIE lacquer cutting signature in the runouts of both sides.

This is a promotional copy a gold promo stamp and a DJ timing strip on the front cover,  

It has the original brown Atlantic Group inner sleeve, which has a one 5” seal split.

The Seller was in the retail record business in the 1970's-1980's and acquired a collection of 2500+ albums from that era, which is now being sold on Ebay. Most have never (or seldom) been played. Many are white label promos, first pressings, and often factory sealed. The collection has been securely boxed and stored in a smoke free environment since 1983, over 40 years!  If you like what you see, please check back occasionally to see my new listings.

Grading methodology is as follows:

M (MINT) - Album is brand new, sealed, and has never been played.

NM (NEAR MINT) - Vinyl looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap. LP cover may have some light rub marks.

VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) - Vinyl may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned corners, or a slight seam split. May have slight signs of wear also may be marred by a cut out hole, sawcut, or cut corner indicating it is a promotional copy.

VG (VERY GOOD) - Vinyl has light wear, scratches, or scuffs. Covers may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, etc.
