The Beatles "Abbey Road" (1969) original first press vinyl LP with misprint sleeve variant (the misaligned apple on rear sleeve)
Apple Records ?– PCS 7088.
Matrix / Runout (Side A Run Out): YEX 749-2 Matrix / Runout (Side B Run Out): YEX 750-1
This first press has variations on the sleeve. The apple logo on the rear sleeve is misaligned with the rest of the text AND 'Her Majesty' is also missing from the sleeve and the vinyl label. The front cover photo is slightly larger than the usual sleeve with the picture shows less of the trees and zebra crossing (upper and bottom right). Small ? on labels.
Condition using Record Collector grading. SLEEVE: excellent condition with acceptable wear on the corners. The front cover laminate does have one slight crease but no other major defects. The spine looks very good. VINYL: good minus condition with visible scuff marks and a scratch on side two which can be heard on playback. There are crackles and soft 'pops' on a few of the other tracks.
This is a good opportunity for somebody who has an excellent vinyl copy but poor sleeve to marry it up with a sleeve that's in excellent condition.
