Description
This is a genuine butchers sleeve of Yesterday and Today. NOT a reproduction. NOT a bootleg. It's the REAL thing.
I've supplied lots of close-ups of the front of the sleeve so you should be able to see the small paper lifts where the cover up replacement slick has been removed (not by me I hasten to add!). This makes it what collectors call a 'third state' – 'first state' is an untouched original release; 'second state' has the 'trunk' image slick over pasted; third state is where the 'trunk' image has been removed.
This is the first time a copy has crossed my path but to my eye, for a 3rd state, the front of the sleeve is remarkably intact, clear and, I think, a fine example.
The spine and the rear sleeve are, however, a right mess. The title and 'Beatles' are still visible but there is paper loss and a large split. The rear is very grubby and has a name in ink.
On the back of the sleeve bottom righthand corner is a number '6' indicating it was printed by Imperial Packing Co.

The owner of the LP is the daughter of Keith Nelson, whose signature you can see in the top righthand corner. She has entrusted me to sell this for her. Keith was a musician who played with the Brunning Hall Sunflower Blues band, Matthews Southern Comfort, Meal Ticket, etc. How he acquired the record is lost in the mists of time, but he had it in his collection since the late 1960s.
The disc is a VG, plays through without skips, no deep gouges, but is scuffed and plays with some audible surface noise.
