Description
Third state butcher cover. I remember well when this album came out in mid-1966. There was a lot of uproar from record sellers, distributors, and radio deejays. My sister was a huge fan and the whole thing seem didn't seem quite the big deal to her or her friends as it was in the media.
Only 3-5% of the peeled pasteovers are excellent(an LP grader for a SF/Bay Area record chain told me this). In other words, 95-97% of third state covers are either somewhat better to much
better, or worse. I've seen examples of all of these. The general truth is that the real thing doesn't come up for sale very often. The import reproductions, which are often excellent, command high prices. What you get here is the real thing, 41 years young.
The pictures here should give you a pretty good idea of what you're getting.
The vinyl is in VG condition, which means minor surface noise (mostly heard during quiet passages), occasional ticks and pops. These things are noticeable on 4 of the 11 album tracks. The other cuts are pretty clean. This is the mono release, Capitol T2553
The seam splits, on the title spine are 2.25," and 8" long as you get to the bottom. The top splits run 2" at one end and 2" at the other. The bottom spine has one end split 1.25" and the other at 2.25." Please note that despite the seam splits the cover holds together well, it just won't handle abuse; does anything?
The inner sleeve is in fine shape. The record will be shipped in a poly sleeve.
Now you have the whole picture and no BS.
Please bid only to the extent you can make good on, should you post the winning bid.
This item will be wrapped and shipped righteously.
Good luck.
