💿 DESCRIPTION

Released in June 1966, "Yesterday and Today" is perhaps the most talked-about Beatles album in the United States, largely due to its controversial cover art history. This album serves as a bridge between the "Rubber Soul" and "Revolver" eras, featuring tracks like "Yesterday," "Act Naturally," and "Nowhere Man." It also includes three tracks ("I'm Only Sleeping," "Drive My Car," and "And Your Bird Can Sing") that Capitol had pulled from the upcoming British "Revolver" sessions to fill this release. The "Trunk Cover" featured here was the immediate replacement for the infamous "Butcher Cover," which was recalled and destroyed or pasted over just days before the official release.

💎 CONDITION vinyl: excellent Plus (EX+) cover: Excellent (Ex) 🧾 NOTES FOR COLLECTORS
  • This is a guaranteed First Edition pressing from the Scranton, Pennsylvania plant. Collectors can identify this by two key features: the number "2" printed on the back cover (lower right corner near the RIAA logo) and the "IAM" in a triangle symbol stamped in the runout grooves. This copy features the iconic "Trunk Cover" (First State, not a paste-over), which is the standard commercial version released after the Butcher cover recall. Being a Stereo copy ("New Improved Full Dimensional Stereo") in such preserved condition with the original shrink wrap makes it a top-tier addition to any Beatles collection. The labels are the original Black Rainbow/Colorband variation without the "Subsidiary" rim text, which is the definitive identifier for the first 1966 run.
