Almost every Beatles fan knows the story of the 'Yesturday and Today' Butcher cover. Anyone cansidering obtaining one of these rare finds can do no better than to consult the 'Butcher Cover' web site www.eskimo.com/~bpentium/butcher.html which is the ultimate source for indentifying the range available, their value, and how to spot the genuine article. The website is also invaluable for its 'complete discography and price' guide.

This guide not only features the various types of butcher cover available but includes various re-productions and copies manufactured since 1966. The item I am offering is listed in the guide as being "a near perfect" Japanese reproduction from 1996. It is valued in the guide at $150.00. However, I no longer have the inner sleeve and record, just the outter sleeve shown below. For this reason I am starting bidding £5.00. It is, of cource, the outer sleeve that everyone is interested in. Considering genuine 'first state' butcher covers in good condition will set you back several thousand dollars a near perfect reproduction is the next best thing.
