Description
I have for sale a 3rd state version of The Beatles Yesterday and Today, first release butcher cover. The original owner peeled the album cover herself with a hair dryer when it was released and while the glue was still fresh. She said that everybody was doing it. Haha. After she was done she managed to slip it back in the shrink wrap, where it remained until I pulled it off today. The combination of pealing it in ‘66, and having it covered and well stored since, has created a beautiful example of a peeled butcher cover.
Cover:
The cover is in excellent shape. Bright and white with some light discoloration at the record opening where the shrink wrap didn’t cover. Great color to the butcher image itself as well. Lies nice and flat as well.
The peel was very well done. The lower spot on Ringos shoulder and the spot on the boarder by the spine are missing the image. The other white spots on the cover are above the image and look removable to me. The paste over cover is there as well. A bit wrinkled but not too bad considering what it’s been through. Cool to have it complete too.
Vinyl:
The record is in excellent condition as well. A couple light sleeve scuffs but you really have to look for them. Labels are beautiful. Not a spindle mark.
