Description

The Beatles Yesterday & Today aka The Butcher Cover released in 1966 On Capitol Records this is an original 2nd State Butcher Cover which means it has never been peeled to reveal the Butcher Image under the cover there is alot of history behind this infamous album the holy grail of Beatles Collecting a short time after its release the album was recalled by Capitol Records because of the controversial images on the album cover  they were to be destroyed many were returned to the factory and had what is called the Trunk Cover Slick pasted over the Butcher Cover image like this one, people started to notice Ringo Starr's V -Neck sweater from the Butcher Cover bleeding through the new trunk cover that was pasted over the Butcher cover and started to peel( steam) the cover off to reveal the banned Butcher Cover underneath you can see Ringo's V-Neck Sweater bleeding through the cover of this album in the photo this is a Los Angeles,Califorina pressing,as dictated by the factory number #6 on the back cover in the lower right corner the condition of the cover is very good condition considering how old  it is the seams are intact the vinyl is very good no deep scratches or tears on the record labels. The 2nd state Butcher Covers are much more sought after by collectors because over the years so many of the album covers have been peeled to reveal the Butcher Image that 2nd state Butcher Covers not peeled are becoming scarce this is a blue chip investment record and a must have for any serious Beatles Collector it will go up in value over the years as they are becoming rare and hard to find will be shipped securly with signature conformation and insurance!
