The Beatles   Yesterday And Today STEREO in great condition.
First State stereo issues of the Butcher cover are much rarer than their mono counterparts, and outnumber them by a ratio of roughly 10:1.

Complete & original 1st US stereo pressing of Yesterday & Today by The Beatles. This is a '2nd state' withdrawn Butcher cover with Trunk slick paste over. This can be identified by the v-shape of Ringo's black turtleneck under white butcher's coat that is partially visible on the right hand side of the front sleeve, through the pasted over trunk slick. This particular cover was printed at the Los Angeles plant - identifiable by the small number '5' in the bottom right corner of the back of the sleeve. 
A completely unpeeled 2nd state Butcher cover with Trunk slick pasted over. The front is in great condition, bright, clean, no stains, no marks, vivid colors, no wear, strong sharp edges and corners. The trunk slick is completely unpeeled. The spine is clean, wear-free and super sharp all the way to the corners. The top and bottom edges have some very light signs of flaking. The back is almost wear-free with some discoloration towards the edges, with a one-inch tear on the side, look at the pictures! The vinyl is in top condition and it is the one which came originally with this record, super-glossy, no marks, no wear, very few hairlines visible in both daylight and under a strong direct halogen spotlight. The disc is completely flat with no warping, NEAR MINT! The labels are clean, and unworn with very few spindle markings, NEAR MINT! The disc plays beautifully and dead silent, something very hard for a Capitol release! The original advertising inner sleeve is EXCELLENT! This is a collector's condition collectors piece in fantastic condition, an "easy peeler" should you choose to do so! 

As Beatles albums had continued to sell well since their arrival in America in early 1964, Capitol had high hopes for sales of Yesterday and Today. In anticipation of this, the company printed some 750,000 covers at their three pressing plants   Los Angeles, California, Scranton, Pennsylvania, and Jacksonville, Illinois.
At the time of the release of Yesterday and Today, record companies in America were still pressing records in both stereo and mono, as stereo records were playable only on stereo equipment and most buyers only had mono record players. Because of this, approximately 80%-90% of the finished covers were in mono, with the remainder in stereo.
The mono and stereo labels on the "Butcher" LPs pressed in Scranton are similar to those pressed in Los Angeles -- The Beatles - Yesterday And Today -- but differ in two respects: 1) On the Scranton labels, the  ST-2553  is centered above the  (ST-X-1-2553)  (to the left of "Side 1/2"); and 2) "Side 1/2" -- is in a sans serif font. On Los Angeles pressings, the  ST-2553  is right aligned over the  (ST-X-1-2553)  and the side number is in a serif font.
