The Beatles - Yesterday... And Today LP - Capitol, T 2553 - Peeled Butcher Cover

Hello! This is an auction for a copy of the album "Yesterday"... And Today by The Beatles on Capitol, catalogue number T-2553. This copy has the infamous "Butcher Cover", which has been exposed through a fairly rough peel job (not uncommon with these, especially with copies like this one from the Los Angeles plant, which are notorious for being hard to peel due to the glue used on them). This copy didn't go through too many hands before getting to me, and word is that the name on the cover is from the original owner that bought it new in '66 and did a lot of the peeling herself before the second owner tried a bit but left her name intact. The cover, as you can see, has a lot of tearing and some staining, along with some splitting and a little bit of looseness to the slick. The record has a lot of scuffing and scratching to it, but notably plays all the way through without any skipping or sticking whatsoever. This is not a top end Butcher by any means, but is also far from the worst. There doesn't appear to be any mold here at all (a lot of people used water to get the trunk slicks off of these, which means that many of these developed mold issues), most of the Butcher image is visible and the faces haven't been completely torn off, and if you know what you're doing, there is room for improvement here. A lot of the cloudiness here is just remnants of the Trunk slick. This will never be a first-rate peel job due to the degree of tearing that has already occurred to the Butcher slick (numerous nicks throughout and some big tears, notably to the top corner under the catalogue number, the lower left-hand corner, and the lower right-hand corner/edge), but you could definitely do worse, and these only keep rising in value. Note that I will only combine shipping for items bought over a two week period. I will hold off on filing a claim if you tell me you're waiting to bid on some items from me that are ending the next week, but I won't extend that courtesy to the week after that. Unless you contact me beforehand about the matter, I will file a claim if an item isn't paid for after two days.
Due to my job, my weekly window for shipping items out is rather limited. That's why I have 10 business days shipping and handling. I don't always need all that time, but my schedule is restrictive, so sometimes I really do take that long to ship an item out.

I'd like to clarify something I said up above... I said that if you know what you're doing, this Butcher Cover could be cleaned up a bit further. That is true. But I would like to emphasize that you should only attempt this if you know what you are doing. Unless you have done this multiple times before with Butcher Covers like this one from the Los Angeles plant- identified by the "6" on the back cover- and know exactly how to handle the glue they used to connect the Trunk slick to the Butcher slick, I would not recommend trying to clean this up any further at all. Any attempts to do so from people that do not know explicitly how to do this are likely to result in the cover being damaged further. I'd also advise against paying anybody to clean this copy up for you, since there are enough nicks and tears in this slick to make that not worthwhile from a cost perspective. Basically, if you have to ask how to clean this copy up further, you probably should not try. These ones are notoriously the most difficult of all the Butchers to clean up. I just felt I should clarify this to dissuade anybody from buying this and accidentally damaging it. Thank you for reading.
