The Beatles Yesterday And Today 2nd STATE Paste-over, West Coast, orange sleeve . 

The paste-on slick is near mint (considering the kinesthetic curious). For the record...the original cover below is mint+. All corners and edges are crisp without damage. There is slight self-storage rub marks. Cover is straight without warp. Lower right seam of cover just beginning to separate. Upper right seam still connected. Spine and top/bottom edges NOT rubbed away from sliding in and out of storage. Spine font is legible, but does have slight wear. Tiny tea color stain at the small Capitol logo on spine. Butcher cover slick is very visible at Ringo's neckline and the Butcher Cover slick edge is visible under the paste-over. Reverse side of cover was not lucky enough to get a glossy double film. This matte white side has 5 small "tea stains" on lower left. At the top center, of the backside, appears to be a 1" x 1/2" superficial exfoliation from tape or a sticker being removed. The usual record ring smudging is slight.  

This is a true RIAA 6 cover with proper PE-12-3BL orange inner sleeve holding a beautiful record with *asterisk and 2 stamped on both sides. 

The record shows almost no playtime and has been handled well. There is zero signs of record player stem indentation or scuffing in or around hole (except a 1/16" fine nick on side 2). It plays great with very very limited vinyl hiss. There is scuffing across the face of side 2 in songs #3, #4, and #5 that does not affect the playability and does not skip. 

I will include a copy of Capitol Record's withdrawal letter to promoters asking to disregard the "'pop art'" version as new ones would arrive. That letter was sent from the executive and general offices located in Hollywood, which is from where this album came. Recording for this album began in London on June 14, 1966. Oddly, this is the day the letter was sent out recalling the album covers. Was Capitol trying to 'butcher' the album? Many stories behind this West coast copy and is always great to have in a collection.

The paste-over is perfectly alligned and absolutely none of the underlying slick can be seen. This was a spot on paste-over.
