Description
****PLEASE KINDLY READ THE FOLLOWING INFO BEFORE THE RECORD DETAILS*****
I have entered a detailed description below but firstly I would like to highlight a few points to any potential buyers.
I am currently thinning out my collection created over many years including LPs, EPs and singles, mostly Beatles and related, many original presses so please feel free to check out my other items listed, I will be listing over 100 items so there should be something there to interest you if Beatles is your thing.
I have collected records on and off for over 30 years, and the introduction of eBay has provided a valuable medium for collector and sellers alike, however fundamentally it does mean you are purchasing blind up to a point and certainly rely on the description being accurate and detailed, specifically with an item such as vinyl, as a result I always endeavour to enter as detailed a description as possible, err on the side of caution and leave nothing to chance, as a result it may appear that the record actually has more issues than normal, this is my attempt to offer as much piece of mind as possible.
Where reasonably possible, and when time allows I will test play the record all the way through at high volume on a very high quality system and while it's not practical to play all the records I list all the way through, where time won't allow a full play of the record, I will at least play random tracks and and where I visually detect any deep scratches or marks to see if they affect play, in addition I also always play various places in between tracks which is the best test of any distortion or issues. I will remark in the description if I have played the entire record for soundness or as above sample random tracks
All my grading's are based on that given in the Record Collector Rare Record Guide and for further piece of mind offer the following refund policy:
I would very much like to retain, and indeed add to my 100% feedback rating so please In the unlikely event any purchaser of any item from me feels that the item is not as described and/or is unhappy with the item, provided I am advised of the issue within 7 days of receipt of the item I will refund in full with no arguments once I have received the item back including a refund for second class recorded post. Please contact me for any issues that you have rather than just leave a negative rating, I am open and willing to sort any issues out to every ones satisfaction, again a s a buyer for a long time myself I know how disappointing it can be if things are not as they appear once received, in addition if their is any item you wish to query or any aspect ot the item you want more info on again contact me and I will be happy to answer any questions where I can.
To minimise postage and packing costs, I use recycled packaging however all records will be packed as a minimum carefully in a polythene sleeve with cardboard stiffeners, and the record removed from the sleeve to avoid further ring wear during dispatch, in addition to which all records will be receive a deep clean from a VPI specialist vacuum record cleaner to remove any dust and deposits, so play and visual condition described for these records can only improve once listed and purchased. All LP are mailed recorded second class, to enable me to to track the item should the need arise and also provide insurance for any losses or damage, EPs and singles are mailed first class, if however the item value warrants it irrespective of type I will mail to a higher class of post that does cover the items value.
To minimise shipping costs for international buyers I post standard airmail, if however for added piece of mind, to enable the item to be tracked you wish to consider the option of airmail signed for please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to quote you a revised shipping cost for this service.
I am also always interested in purchasing individual items or collections so if you have ones you wish to sell or even a collection please feel free to get in touch, I also offer a consignment service to market and sell individual items or indeed collections so again if this is of interest to you please feel free to contact me.
******BUY WITH CONFIDENCE******
Ok sorry about that, rant over just wanted to make it clear where I'm coming from, description of the record below.
MATRIX NUMBERS - XEX 715-1/716-1
STAMPERS - GR 2/GR 1
SPIZER/DANIELS REF:
COVER - APP7070.MC2A (LATER G+L SLEEVE)
LABELS - APP7070.MR1A
COVER - EX Front panel has 3 large thumbnail shaped creases in the laminate, these are approx 6cm in length at most and are however light and have not broken or lifted the laminate, there are further thin spidery creases toward the 3 closed edges, Rear unlaminated panel with the two red lines above and below the sleeve notes, an area of age browning left of top middle approx 2cm by 3cm, minor handling creasing to laminated flipbacks which remain tight and intact, minor storage bumping and wear to all corners specifically bottom right opening edge corner, and moderate bumpwear to opening edge where their is a thin line where the laminate edge finishes, all in all however a good strong example which retains it's shape bright colours and structure.
INNER SLEEVE/INSERTS - VG Plain black double die cut paper sleeve, moderate handling creases and disc impression and a 3 cm split to bottom edge caused by the disc.
LABELS - EX/EX Both Apple labels look clean and unmarked, very fresh looking 2 spindle marks on side 1, more on side 2 though these are very faint.
VINYL VISUAL - VG/VG Disc weight -120gm Careful inspection of both sides of the record reveal faint spiral scratch mark running round track one side one, looks like at some point it may have been played with a dodgy stylus, this has however only resulted in the one main flaw with this record noted below, there is also a single light scratch to side 2 last 3 tracks and into the run out groove, this however does not affect play, other than this I can detect none of the usual paper sleeve marks and both sides have a deep gloss shine.
VINYL PLAY VG/EX I test played random tracks throughout and in between tracks at high volume on my very unforgiving Bang and Olufsen all tracks I played were crisp and clear, with some background static crackle inbetween tracks you would expect from a record this age, however my experience tells me that one deep clean on the VPI machine will remove the majority of this static, the record played totally flat with no warping. Unfortunately as mentioned above there is damage to track one side 1 which has resulted in a single jump to the end of the Yellow Submarine track, which is a shame as apart from this the play is excellent, however there it is, nothing can be done I'm afraid, had it not been fore this the grading for this side would be a strong excellent.
A good strong example of this highly sought after LP which is getting harder to find in the mono format, despite the issue mentioned still would be a valuable addition to a collection.
