Description

I am continuing to sell some early, rare, and rather obscure Beatles LPs from my collection. So, please check my other auctions too.

In this auction:

·       “THE BEATLES WITH TONY SHERIDAN AND GUESTS” by The Beatles, Tony Sheridan, and The Titans

·       As the front cover states, this LP features very early releases of The Beatles with Tony Sheridan:

MY BONNIE

THE SAINTS (When The Saints Go Marching In)

CRY FOR A SHADOW

WHY

·       This is MGM Records E 4215.

·       This LP was released February 3, 1964 at the time of the “British Invasion” when every U.S. record label was scrambling to find Beatles songs to release and profit on The Beatles who had taken America by storm.

·       This LP is a MONAURAL (MONO) pressing.

·       Please refer to images of the rear cover and labels for the complete listing of tracks.

·       The LP in this auction is a FIRST PRESSING!!! We know this because on the labels “My Bonnie” and “The Saints” have ASCAP publishing designations. Furthermore, this is an EAST COAST PRESSING. We know this because “My Bonnie” has the “Trad. P.D.” credit (meaning “Traditional Public Domain”).

·       The Cover is also a FIRST RUN COVER, because it has “and others” below the song titles on the front slick.

·       The COVER is in NICE VG+ CONDITION. It has light overall wear. There is light wear on the top and bottom seams with a little bit of flaking. There are NO SEAM SPLITS. Two corners have small and slight pushes (top left and bottom right). There is some “balding” on the corners at the top and bottom of the spine. The primarily-white rear cover has some age-related spotting and a very small spot just above the LP catalogue number “E/SE-4215” where a price sticker was removed and took with it a small bit of the rear cover paper. (Please check the images.) You will see that it is not a significant tear, but it must be mentioned.

·       The VINYL is also GRADED VERY STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION. There are some very light surface hairlines/scuffs and lots of gloss.

·       It has become a tough LP to find, for sure!

Thanks to the Price Guide for the Beatles American Records by Perry Cox and Frank Daniels for information about this record.
