Description

Inherited from a relative, along with other stuff I am currently selling.  I believe this to be the very first UK Stereo release of this Beatles album from 1963.  Or at least that what I gathered from the billions of different listings on various sites about this album.  Eventually hopelessly confused (and losing the will to live) I gave up and just decided to list it will all details mentioned.  From what I read I believe this to be the very first one off the presses in 1963 - but read below and judge for yourself:-
This album has:-
1) Large Stereo on the cover front 2) 2/2 matrix's 3) the very first 1/G 1/R stampers 4) Parlophone label text to the edges 5) No 'Sold in the UK' label text 6) 'Recording First Published 1963' label text   7) 'Garrod & Lofthouse' fold over laminated cover 6) 'Darker Colour' front cover (error - later corrected) 7) 'Jobete' publishing label error 8) 'You Really Gotta Hold On Me' error on the cover & labels 9) 'K' embossed near one centre hole (but no other letters).
I think that's all the information I have found out is worthy to mention - but if there is anything I missed - please see the pictures....

Grading:-   Cover still looks very presentable with no damage.  There is some creasing to the front - especially towards the right - but the laminate is still quite shiny.  There is a possible small repair to the opening edge where to me it looks like a small piece of top surface has lifted and been re-stuck.  I cannot see any rips or tears and there is no writing anywhere.  There are no edge splits.  The back is nice and clean with no dirtiness, barely any toning, only 2 or 3 indentations to the top right, and some yellowing / creasing to the fold overs & opening edge.  In any case it is all as pictured - so please take a good look.  I willl grade the cover Good+ to be safe here.  The record is bright and shiny, with only a few lines & 2 or 3 surface marks under bright light.  That said, it still looks nice.  Plays well with the odd bit of crackle / surface noise between tracks - but as it has been sitting in my relatives collection for many years, I suspect it could do with a clean (even though it isn't dirty and has been well stored).  Again to be super safe I will grade the record only Good+.  It almost certainly deserves better, but I prefer to be careful to avoid any issues / disappointment from the winning bidder.  Labels are still very nice with no writing and just a touch of wear around the centre holes.  Undoubtedly a very rare album indeed.   That's it.  Good luck.
