Description
The Beatles ‘The Beatles (White Album)’ Original Mono Pressing. *Rarer WIDESPINE sleeve No. 0175498*
A rare variation of the much sought after 'white album', this copy in the scarcer mono is housed in a widespine sleeve, similar to the early issues of Sgt Pepper issued both in mono and stereo, this one is its correct MONO sleeve, with a blank back top right corner. These white albums were given these sleeves more or less by accident, a breif run of these sleeves was soon stopped due to the immense amount of extra room taken up when delivering and storing. A good solid nice complete copy which does sound good too.
Dead Wax information:
Matrix Numbers: XEX 709-1/ 710-1/ 711-1/ 712-1
Stampers: 33/MD, 26/PA, 4/ML, 2/RH
Condition:
Outer Sleeve: The Rare sleeve is in nice solid shape, light general age wear is showing but no major faults at all. The spine does have some cracking to the lamintaion, however the number is unfaded, the flipbacks are firmly intact, and there is only light yellowing to the colour. A grading of Very Good.
Side One/ Side Two: There are a number of light markings /scuffs but nothing at all in anyway severe, none of these can be felt with a fingertip.Despite these markings the vinyl still retains its dark sheen showing it is not worn a visual grading of Very Good Minus (ACCURATLEY AND HONESTLY GRADED!). The sound of the disc still shows tremdous power, when played at very close to top volume on my system with bass and treble on full, only light background/static could be heard imbetween songs with the music sounding clear and strong. Audio would certainly grade as Very Good Plus not to say that certain areas of the disc couldn't grade higher.
Side Three/ Side Four: Visually similar to the first disc, perhaps side three grading to a Very Good Plus with side four on Very Good. The audio again is crisp and powerful with nice relatively quiet run ins, again a grading of Very Good Plus to the audio, with certain songs such as 'birthday' and 'helter skelter' sounding exceptional and perhaps grading higher.
Labels: All sides display a some spindle trails but with no wear and no stickers or names. Excellent.
Original Black inners: Both present and grading as Excellent Minus/ Very Good. Both nice and flat and untorn, one bears a little bit of wrinkling but nothing at all severe.
Poster: some light yellow age spots beginning to appear but otherwise in nice condition. Excellent.
Photos: Excellent
