Description

White Album 1st pressing from 1968 on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix -1/-1/-1/-2. Tax code on the 1st LP is 'XP' implying that this LP was sold for export [eXempt from Purchase tax]. Both LP's hold the 'Sold In The UK Subject..' statement confirming 1st issue. The records come housed in an original 'stereo' toploading gatefold cover. Both black inner sleeves are present, but there are no photos or lyric sheet.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+/Ex/Ex) A beautifully preserved original White Album and remains in terrific condition. I would say these Lp's have seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks on either side. So please take on board that this is certainly not a mint record. It has, however, survived the years much better than most original copies. And this is borne out by a thorough testing from beginning to end which reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. The audio comes across with fantastic clarity and only light occasional interference. To be precise - we only detected some light static in two or three of the lower key tracks. And please note there is one mark which causes a few ticks in 'Julia'[hence the Vg+]. But overall playback is of a high standard which is a testament to the quality of these early pressings and the fact that it hasn't been used and abused. Original copies of the White Album are the de facto go to copy for best audio and this copy does not disappoint. It's a beauty...please note both green labels have been signed.
Cover (Ex) Remains in superb condition with a shiny front and back which are devoid of nasty marks or significant creases. There is a touch of ageing along the top edge, but other than that it has survived the years very well indeed. The spine is totally intact and overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Difficult to find in better condition.

Inners (Ex-) A bit of creasing and two small splits. But faring much better than most.
