The Beatles / The Beatles (White Album): 1985 German white vinyl direct-metal-mastered (DMM) LP issue 1C 172-04 173/74. Rare and desirable. Long out of print. LPs are NEAR MINT: Labels are super clean with one spindle mark only, Vinyl is pristine, no scuffs, scratches or hairlines. Both LPs are STUNNING and appear to have been played very little. Limited edition numbered Cover is VG+: no tears, seam splits or writing, just some uniform light wear and finger creasing to both sides and slight ringwear to back. The four Beatles portrait prints are included. This album was graded using the Goldmine grading system under a bare 100W bare bulb after the LPs were cleaned on a VPI 16.5 record cleaning machine. All visible defects for this album are reported above. Vinyl Play Graded: NEAR MINT TO EX, Wonderful Sound on a high resolution system, only the occasional very light tick on any one side, but absolutely none repeating. No skips obviously, just some very light background noise on occasion, absolutely no distortion, groove wear, or anything serious that gets in the way of the music. This is arguably the best sounding version of this classic Beatles Masterpiece – with smooth vocals, fantastic bass and punchy instrumental textures. Direct Metal Mastered is a process in cutting vinyl that skips the lacquer to mother step by cutting onto a metal disc that serves as the mother, thus producing a very accurate sonic reproduction of the master tape.
