Description
Up for auction is a original 1968 1st Danish pressing of the White Album. The LPs are pressed in Denmark from what appears to be UK stampers though there are no stamper markings at the 9 o'clock or 3 o'clock position as is usual on UK EMI pressings which identify the stamper numbers, the 6 o'clock markings which identify each LPs catalog number appear as UK markings though. It may have been that UK stampers where sent to Denmark for pressing for the Danish market.
This 2 record set also comes with an original 1st pressing Gerrod and Lofthouse UK printed top loading laminated cover, original black LP sleeves, original poster and an original picture of each of the Beatles. All are in excellent condition with the exception of the black inner sleeves which have very slight fraying at the top from loading the LPs after use.
The LP cover itself is in excellent condition with slight yellowing caused by age but no seam spits or creasing. The only flaws are a printed date 27-12-68 in blue pen on the top left corner of the inside gatefold, added presumably by the original owner, and a tiny blue mark (pen?) above the number on the gatefold cover.
The 2 LPs themselves have been very well cared for over the past 46 years and are in excellent condition with very nice sheen and minimal surface noise. Both sounds excellent.
The White Album was mixed in both stereo and mono. This particular copy is a Stereo copy.
