 THE BEATLES
WHITE ALBUM

1970 First Un-numbered UK Apple Press

Stereo PCS 7067-8

YEX 709-1, YEX 710-1, YEX 711-1 & YEX 712-1

This is the first issue of the un-numbered White Album of 1970, following the last issue of the side opening, numbered pressings. It is in Excellent Plus condition, with barely any signs of playing, except a minor spindle rub and just the usual odd signs of paper marks, where the LPs have gone in and out of the paper inner. Both discs look to be little played, if at all.

The history is fairly straight forward, that in 1968 the first pressings were both Mono & Stereo and uniquely top opening and numbered, then in 1969 logistics and cost at Garrod & Lofthouse, the sleeve manufacturer, meant the sleeves were changed to the common side openings, with a slightly different number format and then in early 1970 the cost of numbereing was also dropped and so came the first un-numbered, side opening sleeves, with this lovely example being one of them.

This copy is very early and still has the Matrices being the '-1' of the first Lacquer.
Its Mothers & Stmapers are Side One Mother '1' & Stamper 'RDA' or '203', Side Two Mother '6' & Stamper 'RAP' or '236', Side Three Mother '4' & Stamper 'RDH' or '207' and Side Four Mother '7' & Stamper 'RRP' or '226'.

This does not have the poster and photos, but, all in all, a nice example of a great LP and a fraction of the cost of the numbered versions of just two years before!

UK selling only.
