CLEAN CONDITION, ALL COMPONENTS IN THIS SET ARE 100% ORIGINAL.
Considered to be one of most INFLUENTIAL and ICONIC Albums of the 20th Century, this is a 1968 UK Apple ** ORIGINAL ISSUE STEREO** TWO Vinyl LP Set for The Beatles WHITE Album, entitled ‘The BEATLES’.
This Set has, TWO ORIGINAL UK ISSUE STEREO VINYL LPs, an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse, Two ORIGINAL MATT BLACK INNER BAGS, (PLEASE NOTE) that this set **DOES NOT** include the four photographs, The set is housed within its ORIGINAL, First Issue, Fully Laminated TOP OPENING, NUMBERED GATEFOLD Sleeve.
LP Description/Condition:
The TWO First Issue STEREO Vinyl LPs are on the traditional DARK GREEN Apple Record labels, all bearing the ‘Sold in UK Subject to resale.…’, ‘with An E.M.I. Recording Reference on four sides, and all four sides have the ‘Mfd. In UK’ label text, and are all printed ‘Stereo’.
All four record labels in Excellent Plus condition, CLEAN, UNDAMAGED record labels, VIVID Black Print, showing only a few light centre spindle lines to each label.
All four sides of the vinyl discs are in Excellent condition, all four sides are very clean and glossy, and show only a few light non feelable surface hairline scratches, there are no deep scratches or scuffs to the vinyl discs, and all four sides still retain their original gloss shine.
Disc 1, Side 1 matrix YEX 709-1 & Side 2: YEX 710-1.
Disc 1, Side 1 stampers: 1 OR & Side 2 stampers are: 3 GRO.
Disc 2, Side 3 matrix: YEX 711-1 & Side 4: YEX 712-1.
Disc 2, Side 3 stampers: 2 OL & Side 4 stampers: 6 AP.
The two Vinyl LPs come in their ORIGINAL Matt Black Die Cut Inner Bags which are in poor condition, one bag has many tears, the other is in better condition.
….And are housed in their ORIGINAL, FULLY LAMINATED Garrod and Lofthouse GATEFOLD Sleeve. This FIRST ISSUE Sleeve is TOP OPENING and NUMBERED 0310498, printed to the lower portion of the front of the sleeve. The wording ‘The BEATLES’ is embossed a little way up above the number. The sleeve opens out to reveal black and white portraits of each of The Beatles together with the track listing, the wording Stereo is printed on the top right corner of the reverse of the sleeve.
The Original Fully Laminated Gatefold sleeve is in Excellent condition. This is a firm, and glossy sleeve throughout, with only mild record indentation, and very mild age toning to the top edges. The back panel is undamaged, with only mild record indentation. The inner gatefold part of the sleeve is in undamaged Excellent Plus condition. The spine edge is fine, and shows age toning, and a little laminate flaking, there are no seam splits to any of the edges, and only a very mild bumps to all four corners.
And an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse which is in Very Good Plus condition, the poster is a nice example with no major damage, just signs of age, and a couple of small tears to the natural folds.
Play Quality:
Having played both LPs, all FOUR sides play very well throughout all the tracks. There are NO skips, just some light background crackle through some of the tracks, otherwise a great sound quality.
This is a respectable example of an original 1968 Beatles STEREO White Album.
