Description

HERE IS A VERY NICE CAPITOL RECORDS PROMOTIONAL 45 RPM 7-INCH RECORD. And please check out my other auctions for other items you may want.

In this auction:

·       “TWIST AND SHOUT” by The Beatles

·       This is Capitol Records P-B-5624.

·       This is a PROMOTIONAL SINGLE with both A-side and B-side in STEREO.

·       As you may know, 45 RPM PROMO RECORDS were released by record companies ONLY to the radio stations and DJs for airplay to promote the artist or new LP. They were not released to, sold to, or made available to the general public.

·       This record was issued in July of 1986.

·       “Twist And Shout” was originally recorded and released by The Beatles in 1963 (per printing on the labels); however, this pressing/re-release of the song was to coincide with the release of the movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” with Matthew Broderick lip-syncing the hit tune.

·       John Lennon’s voice was really put to the test as he shouted out the lyrics to “Twist And Shout” in the recording session. Sources state that the song was recorded after the band had spent 12 straight hours of recording, and their throats were sore from it. Lennon was suffering from a cold, and his voice was on the verge of failing. John, after sucking on throat lozenges and gargling with milk to soothe his throat, belted out the recording we have. A second take was attempted, but John’s voice was too far gone at that point, and that take was not completed. John later said that his voice was not the same for a long time afterward and that “every time [he] swallowed, it felt like sandpaper”.

·       The VINYL is NEAR MINT MINUS with just a few very slight/light hairlines/scuffs.

·       The WHITE LABELS are CLEAN and WHITE!!!

It’s a NICE BEATLES PROMO 45 RPM RECORD for YOUR vinyl collection!!!
