Description

Here is an early, uncommon, and somewhat obscure Beatles LP in BEAUTIFUL condition.

In this auction:

  • THIS IS WHERE IT STARTED” LP by The Beatles with Tony Sheridan and The Titans

  • It is Metro Records M-563, and it is the MONO (monaural) PRESSING of this LP.

  • It was released August 15, 1966.

  • This is a repackage of the MGM LP “The Beatles With Tony Sheridan And Their Guests” that was released in February of 1964 in a green cover.

  • It is an MGM Waddell pressing, because the label has “SIDE 1” printed to to the right of the center hole.

  • Please refer to the image of the rear cover or the images of vinyl/labels for a listing of the songs on this LP.

  • This LP contains early Beatles recordings and was released because, in the mid-1960s, The Beatles were hot recording artists, and ALL of the record labels (except Capitol Records, of course) were trying to find, gain the rights to and release any and every recording made by The Beatles no matter how obscure! Therefore, MGM issued this repackaging of “The Beatles With Tony Sheridan And Their Guests” two and a half years later under the new title “This Is Where It Started” to again draw the record buying public’s attention to the early Beatles tunes.

  • The COVER is in NEAR MINT (NM) CONDITION with just TINY pushes on 3 corners and 2 VERY SMALL and LIGHT SURFACE ONLY creases near the lower right corner.

  • This COVER is REALLY OUTSTANDING: CLEAN with BRIGHT COLORS and VERY CLEAN and WHITE like it was just removed from its shrink wrap.

  • In the spirit of full disclosure, I want to mention that I found this LP with 6 photos of The Beatles cut from newspapers taped about an inch inside the cover from the opening with old yellowed clear tape. When I removed them, the tape came off with some SMALL and VERY THIN pieces of the inside surface of the bare cardboard stuck to it. The cardboard cover is in NO way compromised in thickness and exterior appearance.

  • The VINYL is also in BEAUTIFUL NEAR MINT (NM) CONDITION.

It’s a HARD-TO-FIND PRESSING of this Metro (MGM) Records Beatles LP in SIMPLY EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION to add to your vinyl collection. (It’s been a VERY long time indeed since I’ve seen this LP title in such uncommonly nice condition as this one!)

This is DEFINITELY YOUR FINAL UPGRADE of this Beatles LP title!!
