RECORD DETAILS:

The Beatles - Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane      Parlophone R 5570, 1966   EX Third pressing

It has always been my view that the Beatles best material was the non-commercial stuff on some of the LP's and the odd B side, and that Sir George Martin put out the A sides as cheaply and as quickly as he could to make money. And who can blame him?

Compare "Yesterday"with "Love me do" and you'll see what I mean.

Although I didn't particularly like it, this Beatles record is possibly the rarest one of all those I have.

According to Record Collector, it is a third pressing, but the only one not to have "Sold in the UK" imprinted on the centre. So if such things matter to you, above the value of the music, here it is, in immaculate condition and reduced in price. The book price is an extra ten pounds above mine.

All Beatles records on sale from me have been thoroughly checked against all the variations listed in Record Collector to make sure they comply and will extra severely graded to keep as high a standard as possible on 50 year old records. All will be supplied in the correct original Parlophone company sleeve.

This one is in Near Mint condition

THE SMALL PRINT!

COMPLAINTS AND REFUNDS

Ebay and all buyers please note: most of the item (s) for sale on my site are between 40 and 60 years old, but are in the best possible condition possible for their age. I play all “A” and many “B” sides on a 1960’s Monarch deck, to make sure they sound OK. If anyone should find a record is not as described, it will be replaced or refunded. It is more than possible that the defect could have been with the disc since it was pressed.

If you want feedback left for you (and I ALWAYS leave positive, as soon as I know the item has arrived safely and is satisfactory), first you must leave it for me. There have been far too many buyers across the Ebay Community receiving a full refund and then leaving negative or neutral feedback which is UNFAIR and ignored by Ebay.

All you need to do is contact HonestDave immediately for a full, no quibbles guarantee of a full 100% REFUND including all postage. DO NOT send defective items back unless specifically asked to do so – if the item isn’t good enough for you, then it certainly isn’t for me, so please dispose of it responsibly.

THE DISC (s) ON SALE and their COVERS

All records are checked for current value against the Record Collector Price Guide (soul records are also judged or John Manship’s Soul site which generally gives a more accurate price for that genre. (rarerecordpriceguide.com), (raresoulman.co.uk).

I use only the categories Very Good, VG+, EX (minus), Excellent and occasionally Near Mint as defined by Record Collector. Detailed information is obtained from the following highly recommended websites: 45cat.com, Discogs.com, Popsike.com, everyhit.com, officialcharts.com, and Wikipedia, (to which I contribute for the privilege).

Most records will be supplied in an original or replica Company sleeve, but if not a white sleeve will be included.

SPEED of OPERATIONS

Please don’t ask for fast delivery or complain about slow postage by me. I’m disabled, with an inoperable slipped disc touching on my spinal cord and the specialists have offered me very poor odds against surviving the operation. I post once a week (usually Thursdays), or when I can but am dependent on friends to assist. I cannot go any faster – I already do the very best I can. The record you get should be worth the wait.

U.K. POSTAGE and PACKAGING

1 – 8 singles (7”, 45 rpm records) are charged at the First Class Large Letter rate (20 cm x 20 cm x 2.5 cm, and weight under half a kilo), which is £1.71 according to the Post Office website. 29p is added for professional packaging, making the total postage just £2.00 for up to 8 discs. 9 or more discs or a package height above 2.5cm is £3.30 plus the packing.

LONG PLAYING RECORDS (LP’s - 12”, 33 rpm records, 34 cm x 34 cm x 2 cm, and of reasonable weight), costs £4.00 plus 37p packaging costs. For each subsequent LP add £1.00. Large quantities will be sent by the CHEAPEST courier firm possible.

EUROPEAN and OVERSEAS BUYERS

Postage and packaging rates for singles to Europe (except those shown below) start at £3.70. ALL OTHER COUNTRIES the price starts at around £10.00-£12.00 but five or six discs will go at the same rate.

Packages bound for Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Eastern Europe can only be sent by private courier firms because of continued “lost” i.e. stolen mail.

If the rates shown above are too expensive for you then you as the buyer should look elsewhere. There are cheaper rates available but delivery times of 6 to 10 weeks have been quoted. YOUR RISK!

Please enquire for actual cost BEFORE BIDDING and wait for an invoice at the end.
