The Beatles’ Story on Rainbow Capitol label GatefolD 2Lps.
The records are NM to excellent condition. Not a mark on it under close examination.
The cover is VG+ with a tiny corner bump on the bottoms front right as seen in the pics & very light stain on the rear bottom. Besides these 2 small imperfections the cover is as clean and perfect as can be. Super white, no writing & no seam splits. Oddly this record has the gold stamp with # 9584191 on the front & # 9584201 on the back. You may also notice a “razor line” running along the corners under the stamps. This is standard on all promos like this. They would remove the plastic to apply the stamp. I have sealed copies with this same exact line. So I am not counting this as damage to the cover. It is not cut through, it is just a light score.
80s Black Capitol rainbow band label, pressed 1986-87 at Specialty Record Corporation (The large S surrounding R and C), also identified by smooth indent/notch approx 3/4" from edge of label and glossy finish. All sides also are stamped MASTERED BY CAPITOL.
These SRC pressings also have more information etched in the run-outs than previous pressings (see variant 2 matrix info).
The earlier 1983-85 rainbow label pressings were pressed by Capitol without the smooth indentation and a dull finish. (not yet listed on Discogs as of Oct 1 2017)
Inside gatefold text refers to the mono pressing despite the catalog # STBO 2222.
EST-Code may or may not be on label side 3 (see detailed picture).
