Description

I am auctioning off some duplicate BEATLES and BEATLES-RELATED LPs in nice condition to reduce my collection. So, please check my other auctions.

In this auction:

·       “THE BEATLES STORY” by the Beatles

·       This LP is Capitol Records STBO 2222.

·       It was first issued November 23, 1964.

·       The Cover is a Capitol-marked cover with “Capitol” on the front cover, rear cover and spine.

·       This LP has a GATEFOLD COVER produced before 1970.

·       According to Perry Cox, gatefold album covers “made by Capitol/Apple before 1970 were folded so that the inside slick folds around to the front and back. The front/back slick is smaller… and you can see that it is stuck on top of the inner slick, which folds around to the front and back cover”.

·       This LP has CAPITOL RECORDS LABELS with “MFD BY CAPITOL RECORDS, INC. USA” printed on both labels.

·       This record was produced at Capitol’s Scranton, PA plant. We know this because there is a machine-stamped triangle with the initials IAM in it. “IAM” stood for the International Association of Machinists union whose members worked at that Capitol pressing plant.

·       The COVER is graded Nice VG+ with light overall wear (primarily on the lower front cover), some aging of the primarily white cover and a tiny ¼ inch seam split on the top at the opening. All seams and spine are nice and strong without wear. This gatefold cover is often found with very worn and edges and large seam splits, but not this one.

·       The VINYL (all 4 sides) is graded NEAR MINT.

·       It’s a GREAT Beatles LP from 1964 in GREAT SHAPE to add to your vinyl collection.

Information provided is from Perry Cox’s Price Guide for the Beatles American Records.
