Item Description
The Beatles Something New. Used original export only LP on Parlophone Records. 1st Pressing. Matrix# is YEEX 7-B12 (side 1) and YEEX 8-B12 (side 2). Small label writing starts off with "The Parlophone Co Ltd - ...." circling around the bottom of the label. There is also the "KT" tax stamp on side one by the spindle hole.
The front cover is the "fold over flap" type and is laminated. It has some air pockets underneath the lamination. The front cover still looks slick. Someone tried writing their name on the top front cover but it is hardly visible. An original price tag is still stuck on the front cover.
The back cover was not laminated and is fairly clean condition with some spotting here and there.
It does not come with the original "Emitex" sleeve though I've heard that these are pretty easily replaced as a lot of different albums used this sleeve. It will be sent in a generic poly lined sleeve.
The vinyl on both sides shows wear, but still retains a pretty good shine. There are a lot of very light surface marks. It looks like this album was used a fair amount without the benefit of an inner sleeve. Most of the marks go straight across the vinyl, probably made while sliding the album in and out of the jacket. I have played this album before. The older grooves in this record were cut a bit deeper than those on newer vinyl. The labels are nice and flat with no bubbling.
This is far from a "Mint" copy. I'd rate it as a G++ (maybe VG--) overall. Considering the rarity of this album, it's not a bad specimen and would make a nice filler to any collection.
