Description
First pressing in mono of the Beatles Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. This comes in the rarest and earliest sleeve - A Fourth Proof sleeve. This sleeve is also marked patent pending. The patent was the way the sleeve was folded as gatefold sleeves were quite rare at this time & usually like The Beatles for Sale sleeve or the Moody Blues In Search of the Lost Chord. The sleeve is in VG+ condition. It is let down by the spine which is not fully legible.
This does not mean that the record enclosed is a very early pressing though. Their was no such thing as just in time logistics in the 1960s. Sleeves were printed & stored in a warehouse until needed. Record matrices are XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1. Stampers are 3 OML & 8 RMP Audio for record is easily Ex on my system.
The flame inner sleeve is in VG+ condition & has a split along the bottom. The cardboard give away is in EX condition.
