Description
Genuine original 'Factory Sample' vinyl stereo release of The Beatles' seminal Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band album, including gatefold sleeve and two cutouts.
Released by EMI/Parlaphone in 1967, the label number is PCS 7027; matrix numbers YEX 637/638. The label has a Factory Sample sticker attached to the Side 1 record label stating 'FACTORY SAMPLE NOT FOR RESALE' – see image.
The overall package (using the Goldmine standard) is in good condition. But please note the album was found in an attic and the vinyl has been well-played, with some scratch marks.
The original Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd gatefold sleeve also shows signs of wear and tear, including crease marks on the corners (see image for clarity). But the sleeve remains intact with 'Sgt Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band' clearly visible on the spine.
The package also includes two cut-outs of the five that were included with the original release – see image.
However, despite these small flaws a genuine factory sample of Sgt Pepper vinyl is very rare on the open market; very few were released at the time to promote the album and samples do not often become available.
