Description
Issued as part of a very limited edition by Hi-Fi Today magazine in 1984 I purchased this record which has remained in my collection ever since, stored vertically in a cabinet away from natural light. The catalogue number is PCS7027 and the disc bears etched matrix numbers YEX637A and YEX638B with Nimbus England machine stamped on each side's run-out groove.
The disc has only ever been played 3 times on very good equipment and is as near to Mint as possible. The sound quality is truly excellent free from any unwanted noise. The disc is entirely flat while the label has no spindle marks or any other imperfections.
The laminated cover by Garrod & Lofthouse is in immaculate condition. The absence of any separation of the lamination from the outer spine when opened confirms how seldom the gatefold sleeve has been opened. The Sgt Pepper cutout sleeve is intact as new.
The disc is housed in a plain lined white sleeve with a transparent window for the label as supplied by Nimbus bearing their own copyright numbers. The cover is identical to the original EMI sleeve but has a transparent gold Nimbus label on the top right corner of the front cover.
The album has always been kept in a clear gatefold sleeve to protect the cover from possible damage.
Such a fine example of this classic album will very rarely become available for sale.
