The Beatles LP Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band Mono PMC 7027
This copy is the ULTRA RARE MONO, one EMI box, black and silver label. This dates from around 1970, early 1971 and is a very rare version because by 1970 mono records were being phased out and EMI were only pressing stereo copies of all Beatles LPs. However Sgt Pepper is one LP that did have a very few mono copies pressed in 1970. These very rarely come up for sale and are rare in any condition.
I will start with the obvious negative. Somebody stuck a label of some kind (probably the owner’s name) on the record label side 1 (over the Parlophone logo) Subsequently it has been removed and left a mark and unfortunately removed about 1 by 2 cm of the original label when it was unstuck! Sad, but not disastrous! Side 2 has a perfect label and both sides only have very minor spindle markings indicating relatively few plays.
Side 1: XEX 637-1 (stampers 2 MPG) EXCELLENT visual Very clean vinyl, hardly any surface marks. AUDIO: Minor background noise. A couple of louder pops here and there. Very Good condition overall
Side 2: XEX 638-1 (stampers 3 MOL) There are a couple of visible surface scratches on this side. There are a few clicks and pops on this side but generally in 1s and 2s and they do not affect the audio enjoyment. Very good overall.
The gatefold MONO sleeve is in GOOD condition, unfortunately part of the spine has been repaired with some sellotape. No inner cut outs.
There is a plain white inner bag.
OTHER STUFF:
All of my auctions start low with no reserve. Postage is reasonable and based on costs only. Fast delivery and feedback is guaranteed. All records will be mailed in custom designed mailers with two cardboard stiffeners. Any issues upon delivery can be dealt with via communication. I am a very reasonable person and try to describe a record as accurately as I would expect to see it as a buyer.
I have a selection of other Beatles LPs for sale. Discount will be given on postage and packing for multiple purchases. I will post anywhere in the world with air mail signed for delivery, this will cost a bit more but is safer.
