Among a great variety of store counter standup displays, we have never seen anything like it. This isn’t a regular display but an actual cover of “The Beatles’ Second Album” with an LP. It could only be assumed which purpose this incredibly rare cover display was manufactured for. It’s most likely, it could serve as an advertising souvenir for Capitol Records’ distributors or used as a promotional standup display at record stores. The functionality of this display cover is very well thought out as it has the same slick of the album’s front cover on both sides. The parts with unused perforation, just like any other promotional stand, can be used to assemble the base with legs that this display will stand on vertically or, the parts with a hole located at the center top and bottom can be used for hanging the display. This authentic promotional Capitol Records display cover of “The Beatles’ Second Album” comes with the original inner sleeve and 1st day pressing vinyl record containing a misprint that indicates the timing for the “You Can’t Do That” track as “2:23” as oppose to the correct one “2:33”. The counter display cover is in beautiful Near Mint Minus condition and contains unused perforation. I grade the vinyl as Very Good Plus. It contains a sparkling factory lacquer but has a few very light non-feelable surface hairlines as well as scuffs from the original Capitol Records paper inner sleeve which is in Near Mint condition and doesn't have any splits. The labels are in stunning Near Mint condition and are completely wear- and scuff-free.
