Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the eighth studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. Released on 26 May 1967,[nb 1] Sgt. Pepper is regarded by musicologists as an early concept album that advanced the roles of sound composition, extended form, psychedelic imagery, record sleeves, and the producer in popular music. The album had an immediate cross-generational impact and was associated with numerous touchstones of the era's youth culture, such as fashion, drugs, mysticism, and a sense of optimism and empowerment. Critics lauded the album for its innovations in songwriting, production and graphic design, for bridging a cultural divide between popular music and high art, and for reflecting the interests of contemporary youth and the counterculture.
The vinyl is has a lovely glossy sheen and sits completely flat with no warping. Nice clean labels and spindle holes! There are light surface marks and some hairlines. Would benefit from a clean.
The outer GATEFOLD cover is good with age related wear to the corners/edges as to be expected for an item of this age. And of course displays the Saught after "EXTRA WIDE SPINE"! Most wide spines are 6mm this one is 8mm! There is a small tear to back corner and a small nic on the inside top right.
The green Peter Blake cutouts are MINT.
Includes the often missing Red Fool's Swirl inner - but has seen better days with splits to edges and a small nic to the top.
OVERALL A GREAT ORIGINAL PIECE TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION!!!
