Description
The Beatles - 'Rubber Soul' // UK First Stereo Press Vinyl LP 'YEX 178 -3N' 'K T' Tax Code Stamp. EX/EX
I have played the record from start to finish back to front and can safely state the following: minimal surface noise in-between tracks; there's just the odd minor pop that I've heard but that being said all I've done is give the record a once over with a micro-fibre brush, I'm sure if you gave it a clean with the correct materials it would reduce the surface noise to next to nothing throughout the entire record.
Comes in original Emitex inner sleeve which is poly lined so that's why I think it's been kept in such fine condition.
Sleeve has no signs of ring-wear and the spine is fully intact. Shows little or no loss of colour and only shows discolouration on the flip-back sleeve which as far as I'm aware is what is inevitable. Above track listing box an inscription reads a Happy Birthday message in blue biro, which is only a couple of inches long. General scuffs to corners and to opening, but nothing that stands out. An absolutely stunning UK press. Please view pictures for more accurate description.
Label also looks to be in great condition with no writing or deface. However, does show spindle marks (as pictured).
The record is in-fact a first stereo pressing, with 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd.', & 'Sold in UK...' label text with the sleeve being printed by G&L Ltd. Matrix' read 'YEX 178 -3' & 'YEX 179 -3'. Label on A side contains embossed KT tax code stamp.
Vinyl itself only contains one scratch which initially caused me concern but once I played the record it does not affect the play in any way. As you'd expect there are surface marks and the odd scratch but nothing deep and other than what was previously mentioned there no causes for concern; as I said earlier, I have played the record start to finish and there are no skips, jumps or major pops. I would grade the record and sleeve at EX/EX. Basing my estimate of value on RRPG's 2012 grading it places the value of this record at anywhere between £160-£140. However the RRPG price guide fails to take many factors into account. Hence the lower price.
I have sold on eBay and dealt with Beatles memorabilia, most notably vinyl records and as proven by my feedback comments I grade my records fairly.
I ship all records within two days of cleared payment however most of the time it is the next or same day. Any shipping requirements can be catered for just please message me at the same time or before payment has been sent. Usually I ship in a standard record mailer, pack the record in a thick polythene sleeve and place the record in it's own separate cardboard sleeve. I then wrap with bubble wrap to further secure the safety of the record. The record will be sent tracked and signed for delivery both within the UK and worldwide.
