The Beatles - Rubber Soul - 1966 Parlophone original MONO Reel to Reel Tape Record.
An incredibly rare 46 year old item.
Catalogue Number TA-PMC 1267 - Housed in a cardboard box rather than a jewel case as the 1968 reissues were. (By all means look this up!)
Twin Track - you played it one way and then had to play it the other way around before you could listen to the same side again (not unlike cassettes from the 70s and 80s).
MONO
The box is showing some signs of its age as you'd expect (see high-res pictures below) but bearing in mind its age, it's doing very well indeed!! There are no split corners, no tears or creases - just overall "general" wear.
The tape has the original printed "leader" and is in the original 4" EMITAPE spool and inlay tray (again, see pics below).
Ten years ago, in Record Collector magazine, this was valued at £25-£30 and I can't think the value has gone down...
I'm listing FIVE Beatles Reel to Reel tapes on eBay this week - if anyone wants to make me a sensible offer for the whole lot then I'll throw in a mains powered 1960s Reel to Reel tape player as well - in full working order. This can be connected to a modern home HiFi by virtue of a DIN to RCA Phono connector so you can actually listen to these! Anyone who wants the player will however have to collect it as it's a tonne weight!
