Description
This is a rare example of a 1st press UK release of The Beatles Rubber Soul LP in near mint condition (PMC 1267). Albums issued in the United Kingdom generally had two additional songs, as well as some of the titles were different. This UK version had fourteen songs, whereas the US version had twelve. Additionally, this version of the album contained the songs "Drive My Car, Nowhere Man, What Goes On, and If I Needed Someone that were not on the US version.
The cover is the original, first issue, MONO sleeve in near mint condition. There is no damage to the corners or edges and there is a strong spine with minor flaking of the laminate in one place and the printed wording “Rubber Soul – The Beatles” clearly readable. The back cover is in near mint condition with no fading, discolouration or tears.
The original heavy vinyl LP is in excellent condition but does have a few slight scuff marks and it has not been played to test the quality of the sound. The Matrix numbers are XEX 579 – 1 and XEX 589-1.
The original yellow and black PARLOPHONE labels are in excellent clean condition with only slight spindle marks when viewed under a bright light. Both labels clearly show the words “Sold in the U.K.” and “Made in Gt. Britain.”
The original tissue sleeve is in near mint condition and includes no tears, slight discolouration to the opening edge only a very feint outline of the record imprint.
This is a rare first press complete LP in near mint condition.
