Description

An original 2nd press of RS on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 4/4. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original mono G&L cover with flipbacks. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are really very quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. A really splendid player which delivers all these tracks with aplomb, and importantly, cleanly! Many copies of Rubber Soul often let the listener down with a bit of background in places - there are many acoustic tracks..it really needs to be clean to fully appreciate this Beatles masterpiece. On this copy I'm pleased to report that even 'Michelle' plays. And this is actually quite unusual because it's an incredibly fussy track. Expect great audio all the way through with just a couple of very minor deviations. I'm detect a couple of ticks midway through 'Looking Through You' and then again in the closing seconds as the music fades. There's also a couple of clicks in the final couple of seconds of the track 'Wait. Neither of these are really that obvious and get in the way of the music at all. If you can live with a couple of minor issues the rest of the LP will literally thoroughly impress on the audio front...they don't all sound this good.
Cover (Ex) In great shape and has been clearly been looked after down the years. A lovely clean and shiny front with a few thumbnail creases over toward the opening and a couple of stress creases at the spine. The rear, thankfully, seems to have pretty much avoided the ageing process. All I can make out is a small blemish mark down in the bottom left corner. All flipbacks are intact and secure. Edge wear is very light and the openings are still sharpish. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A very fine specimen.
Emitex (Vg+) A bit of light ageing. One edge split has been taped up. Also one corner has been lopped off - presumably to help it slip into the cover.
