This recording comes direct from the vinyl copy you are now bidding on, straight out of my NAD amp, into my ZOOM H2 recorder, recording directly into MP3. When including these recordings for this purpose I make no audio tweaks in any way to the audio recording I have done, I do not alter the weight of the stylus, though I do use a fresh stylus, as, I'm sure we're all aware, is healthy to do anyway, very regularly!

As far as I understand the story behind this pressing, the very first pressings of this album were run off (some say only for 1 day) and then it was decided to re master the album, making it signifficanty quieter. They replaced the matrices ending in -1/-1 on the first presses with -4s or -5s on subsequent copies. These earlier 1N "loud cut" copies are thus named because they are the earlier mix, with much bassier response and deeper grooves, creating all in all a louder mix. Whilst some record collectors verbosely distain on these "insignifficant" variations, I simply expect them to pass this one over, as to many record collectors, and particularly Beatles collectors this is a signifficant variant and part of the production history of the band. Not only that, but there can't be many copies around of this incredibly hard to find record in this good condition. It really is a joy, and deserves to be amongst someone's elite Beatles collection. I have found other 1N copies, but never this good. I haven't substituted the cover or inner for better cnditioned ones (in any cases of this collection), as (apart from the previous owner's name written neatly in black ink on the back cover) they are indicative of the record it's self, and I reckon it gives you the best indication of what the record will be like! Plus the fact that these have always been with the record tells you the kind of life it's led! Sleeve condition: VG+ Really strong conditioned G&L flip-back sleeve, patents pending. Lovely laminate, very little storage wear. Beautifully legible spine, with such squareness to it's edges that the "pinched" style corners are still gloriously obvious. Very limited wear/feathering at the corners, except for the bottom right hand corner (opening-mouth corner) where the laminate has worn throughfor the length of about 1cm, just along the bottom seam, and therefore the cardboard shows through the prined section here (please inspect hotos below!), a limited amount of shelf wear along the bottom apart from that, including a 3mm wear-through of the laminate along the bottom edge about 2 inches from the spine. The front of the cover has 7 crescent thumb-handling ridges, though apart from the edge wear already mentioned there are no breaks/rips/wear-throughs of the laminate. There has been one bump to the mouth edge about 1 inch from the top, though again this has left nothing more than a little rdge in the laminate. The back of the cover is lovely and unspoilt apart from a coupe fo points, the afore mentioned name at 12 o'clock on the white border twixt the top flip-back and the printed area of the plain cardboard. A very slight discolouration near the "mono PMC 1267" text in the top right corner, and 4 slight discolouration marks near the opening mouth edge (all of these are highlighted in the photos below). The flipbacks are in devine condition and show no signs at all of coming unstuck/folding etc. 

Inner Sleeve Condition: VG-. As mentioned before this is the original inner that the record came into my posession with and (presumably) was sold with. All era and company correct "Important" "Use Emitex" inner, with "tracing-paper" style lining (as apposed to the poly lined ones). It has clearly had the non-record filled corners folded upon it's self inside the sleeve at some point and very minor age yellowing can be seen (please inspect photo) the only thing you may not fully make out in the photo is on the top corner there is about an inch that has pulled away from it's self, and ripped an inch of paper tab off (still attached to the other side). Free of any other stains/writing etc. etc. etc. Inner lining firmly attached with no signs of going anywhere.

Labels Condition:VG+. A few light spindle marks (we're probably talking in the teens for side 2 and in the 20s for side 1- counting whenever it changes direction as another seperate mark) and a light hairline abbrasion (non feelable) that delicately traces a single line from the end of "Wait" across to the "33 1/3" sign on the side 2 label, only looks like another spindle mark and only visible when angled to the light. The label shows the minutest signs of whitening in one or two places right next to the centre holes, and side 2's "...rights of the manufacturer..." round the perimiter of the label, is a little smudged, though this is clearly a factory smudge whilst the ink was still fresh. Other than that the labels are perfect. No writing/stains etc. etc. "The Gramophone Co.Ltd...." on the perimeter of both sides, "Sold in U.K...." on both sides, MT tax code embossed around the centre hole of side 2.

Record Condition: 

Visually VG+. Before I begin I must explain that as with most of the records from this particular collection up for sale in its entirety here over the next couple of weeks, the previous owner often tagged his records by very carefully etching his name into the dead-wax of the disc, very conscienciously avoiding any nasty ink on that lovely label etc, and only really visible when tilted into the light- a sneaky defence against would-be thieves! On this particuar record this sneaky insignia is at about 9 o'clock on side 1 and does touch (but only barely) the lacquer code (in this case TT) A few surface hairlines, infrequently pepper and only mildly sully the lovely black mirror that is the surface of this beautiful record! A couple of slightly more visible, but in no way feelable marks (the afore mentioned surface mark from the end of "Wait" up to the label being on of them), are also present, a small surface mark on track 3, side 1 (You Won't See Me) and a couple of more prominant hairlines are there aswell, but really for this record, this is beautiful. Audio: 

I was hard pushed to hear anything on speakers, so I again audio graded this on large diaphragm headphones and if there was anything that could have been a sound, I've listed it below, but let me just reassure quite how good this piece of vinyl is! I'm being pedantic for pedanticism's sake! Silent intro to side 1! The first audible sound is so tiny, but takes you by surprise as you've forgotten they're possible! It is a tiny, tiny, pip on the right hand side only, hidden deep in the end of the guitar solo in Drive My Car, another pip (not a pop!), on the D of "driver' on the line "I've found a Driver…" As the silences are so silent on this lovely flat slab of vinyl, you take note of the very slight static-type noise in the silence between Drive My Car and Norwegian Wood, but it really is so minor, that you'd be hard pushed to complain! The tiniest tick is camouflaged in The attack of the final word "word", in the song "The Word" (There's a confusing sentence for you!), hardly noticeable.

A tiny bit of groove crackle (again very quiet) in the quietest passages of Michelle, only audible if you boost the upper frequencies! 

3 light pops in What Goes On. A single tick to the right side of the fade out on Girl. I'm looking through you, really shows off this LOUD CUT mix, I love the heavy bass on this pressing, really beautiful! I thought there might have been a tick during the "why tell me why, did you not treat me right" line, but it could just as easily have been a handclap!

The silences of this LOUD CUT are usually what let it down , but I just want to stress how wonderful they are on this copy, a tiny bit of groove noise can be heard in the silence pre In My Life.

Wait is another great boomy bass mix on this pressing, it needs to be heard!

One final light tick in the first time the line "You're the one that I'd be thinking of, ^if I needed someone", that's it, even the most pedantic collector cannot pull me up on anything else! I dare you to try! Ja!

One last note, I love this album anyway, but with this LOUD CUT I'd never really listened to them back to back before in such good condition, but after listening to this I would say that the LOUD CUT makes it far more punchier and attacking, almost dare I say MOD-like?! Well worth a listen if you can get hold of a copy in this good condition, and to one lucky bidder, this one could be the one you compare it with! Beautiful!

This record comes from an incredible collection of very early (1G1G, 1B1B etc laquer numbers) presses of some of the very sought after 60s LPs, the condition is remarkable, and the earliness of the laquers unique in my experience! I am listing this collection in it's entirety (though I would love to buy it all- I have taken nothing out!), over the next weeks, there are some things have never seen before, such as a Beatles For Sale with the central KT taxcode pressing INWARDS to the record! 1G1G Verve Zappa albums! A lot of Dylan TMOQ (The Mark Of Quality) and other 60s/70s bootlegs, the 3 Decca Birds singles (featuring amongst others Ronnie Wood), various Widespines (Sgt Peppers, Zappa's Lumpy Gravey etc), REMIX 11 copy of Beatles REVOLVER in really lovely condtion, Velvet Underground on early Verve... Please watch this space! I have been clearing out of non-record related stuff over January, but am listing back again now with avengance! I do have here some REAL MEGA-RARITIES, and I understand perhaps your confidence in me might not be complete, as I haven't listed for a while, which is why I offer this offer of full re-embursment. However I am not a fan of the trend of people trying it on and asking to keep the item but want a partial re-fund, I haven't had it happen to me, and want to keep it that way, so please don't try that, I will happily offer your full winning bid money back upon the safe return of the item, and I think that's fair. 

I am very strict with my grading, having been a collector myself for many years, and I try to include as much relavent information as possible on sales, however if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to ask, I will gladly resond as soon as I can.

One thing I would ask is that the winning bidders do leave feedback, as it's annoying when people overlook it.

I happily offer reductions of postage costs on multiple-items, 

I try grade using direct sunlight which shows up more than anything (hence where poss I take my photos in direct sunlight too), however living in the Pennine Hills, contrary to popular rumour it isn't sunny here EVERY day! So when this isn't always possible, as a backup I also use a 100 Watt lightbulb, though when poss I try to use both.

My Record Grading System:

Mint: I'm really loathe to use this term, if you ever catch me using it, it must be sealed, but also no holes in seal, and no knocks/bangs/other shelf-wear to seal. Doubt you'll ever catch me using it, makes me wince when I hear people dropping that casually into conversations about a record they just picked up on a carboot/found in a loft etc!

Near Mint: Probably still sealed, or possibly played once or twice, but I'm unable to see ANY proof it's been played ie. no spindle marks/surface abbrasions OF AN KIND even in the strongest light, in short, I have a strong suspicion this, whilst possibly not fully sealed has never been out of it's sleeve!

EX+: Must have been reverantly played about as many times as you can count on your hands! Absolutey nothing audible at all, and you'd have to be looking hard in strong light to find fault with any none audible elements of this record package. If I get hold of a record that sounds, and looks like it could have just been carried home from the shop this is about as high as I go unless in exceptional circumstances. In most instances I've found records like this I'd consider them the final upgrade, I'd even consider some sealed records EX+.

EX: Straight Excellent has to mean just that, the kind of copy you wonder how somebody kept it in that condition whilst still having a social life, especially rare in 50s/60s albums, certainly not a grade to be taken lightly or thrown about willy-nilly. Nothing should be audible to the listener during songs, and even in the silences I'd only allow the most minute groove noise.The kind of record that you'd have to look a long way to upgrade!

EX-: A Bloody lovely record, I'd allow the tiniest ticks to be audible on this, so long as they are only a handful throughout the entire record, and they are WELL back in the mix. This is a record/sleeve/insert etc. that has clearly been owned, but looked after to a degree that you ask questions about the previous owner's social life! Perfect for DJ-ing

VG+: The difference between VG+ and EX- for me is probably that the previous owner of an EX- possibly didn't have to worry about their collection being ruined too much, as they could count on their fingers the number of people that might have visited them annually, a VG+ is a more realistic grade, clearly played, but by a music lover, who took good care of their records. May have been present at social gatherings, but probably quickly tidied away when more rowdy guests turned up! Still usually  good for alot DJ-ing needs. 

VG: This is a good example of a record that has lived it's life without a glass bubble surrounding it, but it's owner has been quite careful, perhaps the odd feintly feelable mark if you go in search of it that would make an audible click/pop in a number of places on the records surface. Certainly won't be in any museum, but plays well from start to finnish, and whilst may not stand up to a DJs condition, alongside many collections, you'd be very satisfied.

VG-: As VG, but to a slightly heavier degree, might look a bit worse than a VG, else have the odd repeated click that bugs you in the fade-out of that epic side-ending song. Certainly not perfection, but you could do a damn-sight worse! OK for most collections, though there will be better ones that will probably come up (unless it's very rare!) 

G+:   This is starting to wane, shows more signifficant signs of wear/play/misuse. This could be through general carelesness, one bad night, or using a worn stylus, either way, certainly listenable/passable, but if you saw a better copy going at a decent price, you might think about buying it, and seeing what it's worth to sell this one.

G: Plays through but that's about it, signifficant noise that wasn't there when it was bought. Can still hear the song, but would only really be a filler. I doubt I'll sell anything this bad unless I really think someone will appreciate it in their collection. I'll take these down to the local charity shop and let them find their own homes on the whole!

I'll avoid anything less than this unless it's of signifficant interest, and then I'll clearly title is such. I really don't want bad feedback, and it isn't worth it for me, so I'll avoid this.

I feel my grading system is stricter than many I see used, but the sellers I respect on Ebay and elsewhere seem to be of the same mind as me, I'd much prefer to be known as someone who undergrades and you can get a good record from, than someone you have to wonder, "actually is their VG+ quite what I'd expect from that?". Hope I can win you over!

Yes I combine postage costs, and will only charge  the cost of insured international postage, plus the costs of the packaging (I buy good cruciform boxes, and good stiffeners to post in, I am also pricing up the best way to pad your precious records, and so hopefully this next batch will even be shipped with bubble-wrap too as some of my previous batches have (please observe my feedback regarding this!! All very positive!)), the costs of my packaging will not be about £1 additionally to to costs of the insured postage only, therefore if you live in most of Europe the cost will be signifficantly cheaper than the £14 quoted, and if you buy multiple items, you will save even less!
