The Beatles - Rubber Soul - Capitol Records - Mono T-2442 - 1965 - Mint Condition (New)
The story of this album:  Through the photos for this listing, you are witnessing just the 2nd time this sleeve was ever out of its cover, and the 1st time the record was ever out of its sleeve.  I bought this record in 1985, at which time it was still sealed, with its original store price stickers.  I can only say it was youthful stupidity that caused me to unseal it, look at the sleeve (I didn't even take the record out), save the original stickers, and then tuck it away in my cedar chest.  I forgot it was there.  Today it came out into the light for the first time in 31 years.
I'm not a record collector, so I can't tell you want the matrix numbers are, or exactly how early of a pressing it is, or what the distinguishing characteristics are that might make it more rare.  You experts in the crowd will know that stuff.  What I can tell you is this:

  • The Record:  Has only been out of its sleeve once, for the photos in this listing.  (No, I didn't touch it... I was very careful... very very careful.)
  • The Sleeve:  Has only been out of its cover twice... once in 1985, and today for the photos.  (Yes, I was very careful both times... very very careful.)
  • The Cover:  Was in its original sealing from 1965 to 1985, and in the dark of my cedar chest from 1985 to present.  It shows no sign of wear, fading, or soiling.
As previously mentioned, I'm no expert, but this record is new, so I figure it must be mint.  The only way it could be more mint is if I would have left it sealed (my bad).
