Description
The sleeve is in very good plus condition with creasing and scuffing to the edges and corners and along the opening. There is 'Alan' faintly written in biro on the 'O' of Soul (see pic) and some creasing to the front lamination.
The spine is excellent and fully legible. The back cover has a little age related staining and a small lift of the overlap at the top of the opening .It's about what you would expect of a 55 year old record sleeve. The inner is discoloured and creased but intact without tears but partially split down one side. The vinyl is in excellent condition with few scuffs or hairlines, mainly on side 2 and retains a nice gloss. The label shows spindle wear.
The runoffs are: XEX 579-1 XEX 580-1
First so-called 'loud cut' version of Rubber Soul: "Shortly into the production run, EMI decided that Moss had cut the album too loud and ceased production. After Moss re-cut mono lacquers on November 19, new metal parts were made, and Hayes resumed pressing the album. The albums pressed with stampers generated from the initial lacquers were not destroyed and can be identified by the "-1" following the XEX 579 (Side 1) and XEX 580 (Side 2) matrix numbers..."
Please note:
This copy has the tax code 'LL' (see pic) printed on the sleeve and 'LH' in the runoff on side 1 and the inner, while old, is not lined. It is certainly a first pressing but may not be 'LOUD'price rating
